About Us
Owner/Operator: Marilyn and Dave McFadden
Any spare time has been spent on horses or hockey. Probably should have called the farm
"The Double H". The farm, which has been in the McFadden family since 1904, had consisted of cattle
and work horses until the mid 80'S, then a few riding horses started to come in. So many riding horses
came that the cattle had to leave by 1992. The farm hosted a summer camp from 1992 until 2005.
As a youngster Marilyn always had ponies and horses - she never had the opportunity to participate in a
lesson program as there were no facilities around. She competed in western games as a teenager, barrel racing, keyhole race, pickup race and pole bending. She started taking English riding lessons as an adult in 1990 with Tamara Atkinson. Pooka was her first show horse and they competed in the hunter ring, soon followed by horses such as Gracie, Denny and Dexter.
The arena was built in 1996 and Marilyn soon became very busy with lessons and taking students to local schooling shows and then gradually more trillium shows.
Marilyn has always had a soft spot for OTTB, so much time and money has been spent in finding a suitable second career for those that are able and willing. She has been a member of the ECTA since 1993.
Lone Wolf Farm offers a variety of coaches and trainers to help you and your horse reach your goals.
